Cà dei Fratti Vineyard

A friend from back home in England came to visit me in Italy and we took a trip to Peschiera del Garda on Lake Garda. It was only €10.50 on the train from Milano Centrale and took about an hour and a half. We were incredibly lucky with the weather, the average daily high being around 30°C, so we both managed to successfully top up our tans, for me it was much needed after 6 months of almost total grey!

On our first full day there we decided to hire bikes and cycle to find a vineyard. We headed West along the lake for about an hour, stopping every now and then to enjoy the view and snap a few pictures, and eventually found a very pretty vineyard called Cà dei Fratti, which has been around since 1939. They allowed us to try all of their produce, including some Grappa which I declined but my friend said was very strong! The girl who served us was super friendly and so I ended up buying a bottle of Rosé which was my favourite of the ones we tried, it was a really lovely experience to have seen the vines where the grapes were grown and then to be able to taste the final product.

On the way home we stopped by a beach to chill and read and then headed back to our hostel and had dinner. It was a great day.

I’m planning to go back to the area again in July and so possibly will seek out another vineyard to compare 🙂

On the train, with no aircon but enough breeze to keep cool

One handed, like a pro

The Vineyard, my eyes are closed because it was so sunny!

The vines, not sure what that pose is about…

Trying to look sophisticated and like I know what I’m talking about while tasting wines
