Brits Abroad

Wandering around the pristine Ayala Shopping Centre in Cebu, mainly to get out of the heat and window shop (there’s no way I could afford most things in there!), I was surprised to come across this aisle in the supermarket. I had previously seen Tesco aisles in Bacolod, but assumed they were the only ones to have made it over because they are such a huge company. It makes sense to find it here, if anywhere, though as Ayala in particular caters mainly for rich Cebuanos and tourists, and with there seeming to be a lot of British ex-pats in Cebu, demand for British tea bags and “Essential Waitrose” corn flakes is probably higher than elsewhere in The Philippines.
